The Awe Moment
Too much of photography has been placed on the gear - what kind of cameras are used, the widest aperture of a lens, the newest gadget. While all that factors in, the most important part of my work has always been the emotion that is felt taking, and viewing, my images.
Anyone can pick up a DSLR, a phone, a point and shoot camera. What makes the difference between art, and a great photo, is the thought and the connection behind it. This is what I do, what I teach, and what I strive for.
Look for the moment that stops you in your tracks, that makes your heart skip, that makes you almost miss the click of the shutter. And then, make sure you take the shot.
